quietism

shhh, its late

perhaps its time for some "quietism" -
the practise of resigning oneself to mental inactivity
to bring the soul into direct unity with God.

well if that sounds a bit out of reach
why not try this wee enigmatic radio show instead

Beach Boys - Magic Transistor Radio
Those Poor Bastards - Black Dog Yodel
Sans Soleil - Sahara VHF
Isan - No.1 Lent et douloureux (Satie)
Kingston Trio - Those who are wise
Brian Eno - Menace
Bary Manilow - Mandy
Helios - Light House
Juana Molina - Rio Seco
Bo Diddley - Aztec
Arty Fufkin - All I need is a smile (Air and Lily Allen)
Julie London - In the wee small hours of the morning
Seamus Ennis - The wounded Hussar (air)

Dweller.. What the fuck?? this is J. I don't know if you remember me or not, but I'm from old-school AMW. Dr. Jimmy? Mr. Beefy? Anyhow now, I did a search on my old-school (the good period of early inventive techno) techno songs and found Vibrating Cancer Pants on your site. Maybe you are the only one who feels the way I do about the early 90's - whatever... Send me music - I will send you the whole album that that song was on (Mr. Evil Fish Pants - Playtime). wondernuts@gmail.com
I know.

Hey thanks for stopping by J. I occasionally drop an AMW number in the mix.

That place was so great back then in 2000/2001 and the homegrown music was always a bonus.

I was very much into early 90s and mid 90s techno.
I don't think it has progressed or developed much since then. Perhaps the crazy speed of DnB and all its experimental offshoots, but that was mid-late 90s anyhow...

just been teaching quietism with my philosophy students... they seem to be getting on well with it... i think his kind of atheistic existentialism appeals to even the most essentialist of them...

cool mixes btw
